DIOPSIDE-Sterling Hill, NJ-23

This has been described in the past as manganoan-schefferite, zinc-schefferite, or aegirine variety manganoan, and was first listed as schefferite. This material was originally obtained by us in 1957. It is dark brown platy masses, and each piece may have franklinite, willemite, and/or calcite associated.
This specimen measures 6x8x3cm, and weighs 223grams.
